Hi, folks! Here's some info about me: Mag Gabbert holds a Ph.D. in creative writing from Texas Tech University and an MFA in creative writing from The University of California at Riverside. Her nonfiction essays and poems have been published in journals including 32 Poems, The Rumpus, phoebe, The Nervous Breakdown, Sheepshead Review, Sugar House Review, Carve Magazine, Stirring, and The Boiler Journal. Mag’s first poetry manuscript, Blow, has been listed as a semi-finalist for Persea Press’ Lexi Rudnitsky Prize, Black Lawrence Press’ St. Lawrence Book Award, and for Agape Editions’ Numinous Orisons, Luminous Origin Literary Award. She is the recipient of fellowships from Arts Abroad, Poetry at Round Top, and the James D. and Mary Hazlewood Memorial Fund. Later this year, Mag will begin teaching creative writing for the Graduate Department of Liberal Studies at Southern Methodist University. She also serves as an associate editor for Iron Horse Literary Review and teaches classes and seminars for Writing Workshops Dallas.
